Does YC ask exactly these questions?
These are the 10 most common questions partners ask in the 10-minute interview. The exact wording changes, but the test behind each question is consistent.
How long should each answer be?
Aim for 15–30 seconds. The interview is rapid-fire. If you can't answer in one or two sentences, you haven't simplified enough.
Should I memorize answers?
No. Memorize the one-sentence description, but practice answering each question fresh. Partners interrupt and jump topics.
Is the YC interview simulator free?
Yes. It runs in the browser with no signup, no recording, and no data stored.
How long is a real YC interview?
Roughly 10 minutes, rapid-fire, usually with 3-4 partners. The simulator uses short timers on purpose to train that pace.
